In the heart of Gaza Strip, where suffering grows day by day, Kamal Adwan Hospital was once considered the last refuge for the injured and sick. It stood as a courageous center facing a suffocating siege, providing medical services under extremely challenging circumstances.

But that refuge did not last long. In a dark moment, Israeli occupation forces stormed the hospital, marking the beginning of an unimaginable new tragedy.

Kamal Adwan Hospital suffered massive destruction. The operating and surgical wards, laboratories, ambulance units, and storage facilities were all set ablaze.

All the buildings were burned down, turning this medical sanctuary into mere rubble. In those dire moments, patients and the wounded faced the specter of death, while doctors and nurses struggled desperately to save those who remained.

The suffering did not end there. Following the destruction of the hospital, Israeli occupation forces forcibly transferred patients and the injured to the Indonesian Hospital, where conditions were no better.

The Indonesian Hospital also suffers from severe shortages in medical supplies. There was no water or adequate medicine, electricity was absent, and the generators were non-functional. While the sounds of gunfire pursued the doctors and paramedics, patients suffered silently, threatened by death at any moment due to the harsh conditions.

As the bombing and destruction continued, medical staff were prevented from reaching the patients. The extended hands of doctors were not enough to alleviate the suffering, and humanitarian efforts were thwarted under the threat of weapons.

In the midst of this grim reality, the hospital director, Dr. Hossam Abu Safia, was arrested, losing his freedom for the sake of his patients. This added yet another layer to the unending suffering and marked the collapse of the last line of health defense in northern Gaza.

Israeli attacks do not merely aim to destroy medical facilities but are part of a plan to extinguish hope and eliminate the presence of residents in northern Gaza.
