Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms strongly condemns the new crime committed by the Israeli occupation on the second day of Eid al-Adha, represented by the bombing of a residential apartment in central Gaza Strip, which resulted in the martyrdom of ten Palestinians, including two children and two women, in addition to dozens of civilians sustaining varying injuries.

The organization affirms that targeting residential neighborhoods and innocent civilians constitutes a full-fledged war crime and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, as well as all international conventions and agreements prohibiting the targeting of civilians during armed conflicts.

The organization considers this attack a clear breach of the ceasefire agreement signed in Sharm El-Sheikh, reflecting the occupation’s insistence on continuing military escalation and evading its obligations and commitments before the guarantor states and the international community.

The organization also points out that the martyrdom of more than twenty Palestinians during the past forty-eight hours reveals dangerous attempts to return to a policy of genocidal warfare against the residents of the Gaza Strip, amid shameful international silence and a clear inability to stop the ongoing Israeli crimes and violations.

The organization warns that the continuation of these assaults and violations threatens the collapse of the ceasefire agreement and undermines all international and regional efforts aimed at de-escalation and the protection of civilians.

Insan Organization calls on the international community and the guarantor states of the ceasefire agreement to take a clear and explicit stance condemning the crimes of the Israeli occupation, and to move urgently to compel it to implement the agreement, stop targeting civilians, work seriously to provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and hold those responsible for these crimes accountable.
