A number of legal and human rights advocates have filed an official complaint with the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the French capital, Paris, against Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, over their direct responsibility for approving a law that permits the execution of Palestinian prisoners.
The complainants stated that the law, passed by the Knesset in March 2026, carries a clear discriminatory character targeting Palestinians under the pretext of “security,” and constitutes a grave violation of international law, which imposes strict restrictions on the application of the death penalty, particularly in the context of occupation and exceptional justice systems.
In the same context, the legal team announced its intention to submit a series of additional complaints in the coming hours, in response to what it described as attempts by the occupation to give legal cover to policies of physical liquidation against Palestinian detainees.
These legal actions in Paris come as part of broader efforts to expose the racist nature of Israeli occupation policies and to push the international community toward activating accountability mechanisms against its leaders, who are implicated in serious violations that disregard the most basic legal and human rights standards, amid calls to expand judicial prosecutions in other capitals to halt plans of systematic executions.
