A new United Nations report has leveled serious accusations against the Israeli occupation, alleging the deliberate targeting of children in the Gaza Strip and describing these practices as among the clearest evidence of the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people.
A UN commission of inquiry accused the Israeli occupation of “deliberately” targeting Palestinian children, considering this a major factor in the continuing “genocide” in Gaza, according to a report issued on Tuesday.
The commission explained in its new report that killings in the besieged and devastated enclave have continued despite the ceasefire agreement announced on October 10, 2025.
The report stated that “the Israeli occupation and its security forces deliberately targeted Palestinian children, resulting in the commission of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes in the Gaza Strip, as well as war crimes in the West Bank,” where violence has escalated since the outbreak of the war on Gaza.
The report further argued that “the deliberate targeting of children is one of the key elements demonstrating genocidal intent on the part of the Israeli occupation and its security forces, with the aim of destroying the Palestinian group in whole or in part in Gaza.”
The report emphasized that violations against Palestinian children were not limited to killing and injury, but also included arbitrary detention, torture, and severe forms of ill-treatment inside Israeli prisons and detention centers, in addition to children being subjected to sexual violence and systematic humiliation.
It also noted that policies of blockade, starvation, and deprivation of children from adequate food, clean water, healthcare, and education have deepened their suffering, while repeated displacement, the loss of family members, and the destruction of schools, orphanages, and healthcare facilities have erased the features of childhood and left long-term physical and psychological scars that will affect Gaza’s children for years to come.
Last year, the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory had already concluded that the Israeli occupation was committing “genocide” in its war on Gaza, which began in October 2023.
